Megan, the Prolific

Design Team Member, Megan Bickers enjoyed a prolific retreat a few weeks ago.  Just look at her creativity.  I love the way she always steps out of the box.  She finished almost a hundred cards.  Way to go Megan!  If you want more of the Megan madness check out her blog, http://made-by-design.blogspot.com/.

Supplies Used:

Texana Designs Stamps: BW Wreath (Mini), Insect Set, Wishing you some Texas
Twinkle
Georgia Pacific: White Cardstock
Bazzill : Light Blue Cardstock
Bo Bunny: Secret Garden (Arbor) Pattern Paper
Tsukineko: Memento Inkpad (Tuxedo Black); Versamark Inkpad (Clear)

Bead Landing: Silver Sequins
The Robin's Nest: Dew Drops (Water)
Vintage Iridescent Sequins
Kuretake Gansai Tambi: Watercolors (Purple & Cornflower Blue)
Wow: Vintage Amethyst Embossing Glitter

I stamped the BW wreaths and watercolored them, and added marker accents to
the barbed wire and the center. Then I stamped the mini dragonfly with
versamark ink and added embossing glitter. These stamped images were added
to the card base and surrounded with sequins and embellishments, then I
splattered blue and purple watercolor on the background with a toothbrush.
The saying was stamped on white cardstock, cut out, and mounted to a piece
of pattern paper cut into a banner shape.

Supplies Used:  Happy Birthday Star Kraft card

Texana Designs Stamps: Happy Birthday to someone who turns each day into a
gift, Star (Small), BW Lines 1 & 2
Georgia Pacific: White Cardstock
The Paper Studio: Kraft Cardstock

Ranger: Distress Inkpads (Antique Linen, Pumice Stone); Foam Blending Tool
MISTI Stamping Tool
Recollections: Wood Washi Tape, Tan Baker's Twine
Pebbles: Black Washi Tape (cut in half with craft knife)

I stamped the sentiment on the white cardstock, then layered the small star
on top with grey ink. For the top of the focal point, I layered washi tape
and baker's twine, then adhered it to the kraft cardstock. I edged the left
side of the kraft cardstock with the BW lines and used the foam blender tool
to add black to the outside edges of the card base.

Supplies Used:  Happy Birthday Woodgrain Tag card

Texana Designs Stamps: Happy Birthday to someone who turns each day into a
gift, Star (Mini), Wood Plank, Tag
Georgia Pacific: White Cardstock
Bazzill: Navy Cardstock

Ranger: Distress inkpads (Frayed Burlap, Ground Espresso, Antique Linen);
Foam Blending Tool
Mangelson's Star Sequins (Lg Star)
Sulyn: Mini Glitter Stars (silver)

I created the wood grain paper with the wood plank stamp, distress inkpads
and alcohol markers. I stamped the plank repeatedly on a large 8 1/2 x 11"
piece of white cardstock, colored it, then cut it apart into small strips to
use on multiple cards. I stamped the tag and the sentiment inside, then
colored the dots on the tages to resemble brown stones. The last stamped
accent on this card was the mini star that was colored and fussy-cut. I also
added several sizes of silver sequins to finish off the card.

The card base was created with the colorful washi tape on kraft cardstock.
The Happy Birthday sentiment was cut apart with scissors and each part was
inked up with mini inkpads using the Misti stamping tool.  The candles were
colored in with alcohol markers and stickles were added to the flames.

3M: Foam Tape

I stamped the larger heart from the Heart set on white cardstock using a red
inkpad. I also stamped the mini hearts in a row with the same red and
stamped the black outline on top.   To create the sentiment, I cut the Happy
Birthday sentiment part off , and added the BW lines in between. A tiny
heart was stamped and added on top. The blue washi was placed in the center
of the card base, and I layered the row of stamped hearts, then added the
sentiment with foam tape.

added purple marker lines above and below the silver washi tape.  The

all the colors together.  When I glued these strips down to the card base, I
staggered them, creating an interesting background. The thistle stamp was
colored with watercolors and attached with foam tape.

colored in the images with markers, and the background with a grey marker.
This stamped pattern paper was what I used as the backgrounds for my cards,
and I cut them into strips. Next, I stamped the rectangle frame with the
sentiment inside, and added a fussy-cut stamped heart cactus mini on top.
The sentiment was attached with foam tape.

Script Thank You

I wanted to make a tall card with birds and chickens.  It turned out that I didn’t have room for legs or the bird’s big tails.  So…I didn’t add feet and I gave the birds chicken tails!  It was a fun card to make.
