Cactus Frame and Iris Folding - WOW!

Good morning!
Yesterday, I stopped by Janet's house and was given these awesome Iris Folding cards she designed using the Texana Designs Jam'n Frame - Cactus stamp.  As always, you have to see them in person to truly appreciate the designs, but here's the next best thing.
Using the Circle of Crafters free Iris Pattern, Janet stamped and painted (with Prisma Color Pencils) and blended (with odorless mineral spirits) the Frame - Cactus and then used Memory Box patterned papers for the Iris Folding technique.  To add a nice little touch to the card, she used Distress Ink on the edges.
I hope to see this as a future class!!  Thanks Janet!  Love them!

All About Joyce!

Good morning!
What would I do without Joyce?  Joyce came on board with Texana Designs 3 1/2 years ago and little did either of us know that our friendship would be the best thing to happen in this venture and the business (Really?   It's hard to even call it business when we have so much fun!) would be the icing on the cake!
Not only did Joyce bring all her wonderful designs from her Jam'n years (2000-2006), but she continues to create new designs!   Sh!  Don't tell anyone!  We have some new/old coming out in a few weeks.
But for today, I wanted to share some of Joyce's samples with you.  Ever wonder what to do with all the 6 x 6 paper pads?  We can't go into a store without buying the 6 x 6 paper pads.  Some of the brands we love are:  crate paper, My  Mind's Eye, Basic Grey, lilybeedesign, creative imaginations, Authentique, BoBunny and echo park.   I'm totally addicted to them!

Back to the question......Well, they are perfect for paper-piecing and creating cards with our stamps.  Here are just a few of  Joyce's samples using the 6 x 6 paper pads:

Cactus in Bloom

Good morning!

I feel like I'm on summer time.  That's a good thing, right?

Everywhere I go the cacti are just about to bloom and the Texana Designs team members have been designing some beautiful cactus frame cards at just the right time.  They used Texana Designs Jam'n Frame-Cactus and TEXAS is a State of Mind.  Love these cards and how one stamp can create two totally different designs.  You ladies ROCK!

Jilda used techniques from the Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 101 Blended Distress Ink class and her recent Copics Intermediate Certification Class to create this "rich in color" card.
Note:  Jilda and I took the Copics class last weekend and it was top notch.  I can't wait to find time to play with all I learned.

Products used for Jilda's card:
Stamps:  Texana Designs Jam'n Frame-Cactus and TEXAS is a State of Mind
Distress inks:  Brushed corduroy, crushed olive, peeled paint, wild honey, mustard seed, worn lipstock
Copic markers: E25, G24, G28, R27, Y19
Black embossing powder

Karen (see details on her blog) designed this card using one of her photographs and painting the stamped cactus frame with Prisma Color Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits (one of my favorite ways to color stamps) to create this very unique card.

New Design Team Member! Megan Bickers

Welcome, Megan!

I'm thrilled to welcome Megan to the Design Team.  I believe she will bring a wealth of ideas to our stamp designs, especially her love of adding stamped images to scrapbook pages, her vintage flair and love for mixing patterns and texture!

My name is Megan and I am thrilled to be on the Design Team for Texana
Designs! I was first introduced to stamping when I was in 5th grade. My
babysitter loved all things "crafty" and my favorite supplies to use were
her rubber stamps. That was many years ago, but my love for stamping has
grown and I have a much larger collection to prove it! I also love to
scrapbook and most of my layouts contain stamping in some form or other. My
projects mostly have a vintage flair and reflect my love for mixing patterns
and texture. For over ten years I taught stamping and scrapbooking classes,
but I have recently taken a break from the teaching role to return to work
part time as a Dental Hygienist.

I have been married for 15 years to my best friend, Mike, and we have two
children (Jacob and Abbey). Of course, our family wouldn't be complete
without our dog, Scrappy. We live in Texas and enjoy spending as much time
as we can outdoors or playing board games together.

Good morning!  I've so been enjoying this rain!  Everything is so green and my garden is HAPPY!

As we continue our "leaves" series, today's post is exceptional!  Jilda just got back from taking Fred Mullet's classes in Virginia and applied one of her learned techniques to this card.  It's gorgeous!

Thank you, Jilda!  Love it!

It's All About Leaves!

I love my job!  I love my artist and design team even more!  They keep my heart happy and filled with gratitude.

Today's post is all about leaves and Janet's designs express this beautifully and creatively using Texana Designs leaf stamps by artist Joyce A. Meyer.

Here's what Janet had to say:  "I just love the versatility of the new leaf stamps from Jam'n Stamps and Texana Designs.  Use bright colors and you can have a lovely, bright spring card.  Change to a deeper green and you can just feel the heat of the Texas summer.  Ah, then change it to the look of autumn."  You can visit Janet's blog for more.

Thank you, Janet!  Who thought leaves could be so versatile!

More Springtime Walks and Photos

Good morning!
I love Springtime in Texas!
White Poppy
Tom and I took a hike around the Lake Georgetown/San Gabriel River yesterday and felt like we were in a wonderland of Spring flowers and butterflies.  No way, really, to capture the abundance of wildflowers and butterflies on this hike.  I was, however, able to photograph most of the different flowers.  Amazing that I've lived in Round Rock/Austin area for 30+ years and never walked this hike.  Thank you Karen for the recommendation!
